When I hired Cathy with Sidney Cardel’s to decorate and furnish my new home, I told her I wanted it to be colorful and happy and to feel like a beach house.  She exceeded my expectations!  My house is not only comfortable and happy, but it’s also beautiful.  She took the colors into every room, making each one different but cohesive with the rest of the house so that it flows beautifully.  She took some important things I wanted to use and made them work into the overall design with the new things she chose.  Cathy had custom pillows made for inside and out, including outdoor cushions for the pool area.  Outside, she also picked out plants and designed my exterior landscaping, overseeing and dealing with the landscapers, irrigation, and lighting companies.  She led the installation of an elevator I had to install, not an easy task, and at my request, had a plant/flower bed in the middle of our driveway removed and had it replaced with the current pavers, which you couldn’t even find anymore!  She handled “everything” for me since I live out of town!  She is so talented and fun to work with!  I could not be more pleased and look forward to whenever I come to the beach!  I recommend Cathy to anyone, and I’m comfortable with suggesting you tell her what you want and then “just let her do her thing”!

I have been a client of Cathy’s for over 30 years. I have owned three restaurants and two homes. Cathy is not only an expert at home design but has expertise in commercial design.  One of my restaurants, First Street Grille, was oceanfront coastal, and Cathy chose all the furniture fabrics, carpet designs, bathroom designs, lighting, and art she created herself.  Our second restaurant, The Homestead, was Southern Country style, and she did a total remodel.  Furniture, fabrics, lighting, and a complete overhaul of our copper top bar.  My last restaurant was called Jacksonville Sports Tavern, where Cathy painted a 12’ x 8’ mural on a wall representing our Jacksonville sports teams. She not only ‘designed’ all of them, but she also decorated all my restaurants during the holiday season.

I just moved into my Neptune beach home, and we are thrilled with everything Cathy did. We gutted and tore out walls, flooring, and a stone fireplace. Every room was remodeled, and we’re using some old furniture and some new pieces Cathy has chosen.  She assisted in a complete kitchen remodel and chose stunning light fixtures throughout.  This renovation has opened our view to the outdoor pool and patio area for beach living.  Cathy’s vision for how to create the perfect living space is amazing.

Cathy also staged our Jax Beach condo we put on the market, which sold in two weeks. You can’t beat that!

Not only is she a creative genius, but she is also such an easy and fun person to work with and has enormous patience. At the end of the day, she wants your house to feel like you and appreciates your desires.  I wanted a cottage feel, and that’s what she gave me. I would never use another designer!
