Meet Cathy
Boss Lady & Master of Creative Design
With a double major in Fashion Merchandising and Fashion Design from Florida State University, Cathy always knew she wanted to own her own store. Through the encouragement, trust and support of her dear friend and business partner, Sidney Cardel’s opened its door in October of 2011.
Cathy was a key account sales rep in the home, decorative accessory and gift industry for 20+ years prior to opening her store. Her knowledge of sales, customer service, product and design trends serve her well as a storeowner. Cathy has been a freelance artist for years and her work is seen in many places throughout the beaches. She is a member of numerous chambers and organizations, and volunteers her creative talents for numerous philanthropic charities and events.
A native Floridian, Cathy is a sports enthusiast and loves everything to do with fashion and living at the beach. She is surrounded by great friends, aka her ‘Chill Sisters’ and they are quite famous for, as Cathy says, “throwing one helluva party!”
Cathy feels so very blessed to have a great family support system and is thrilled to have her daughter Cara working alongside her. Together she feels they are quite the team!
Meet Cara
Manager, Marketer & Social Mediaholic
Cara is the Manager, Marketing Director and eye behind the merchandising and visual displays at Sidney Cardel's. After graduating from Florida State University with a degree in Studio Art and Art History, she thrives on the freedom to be creative and share her artistic background throughout the store.
A native beach girl, you can often find her in the ocean or riding her skateboard down 1st Street. She has been voted one of the top, young entrepreneurs in the 904 and she’s deeply involved in the community. She loves live music, Florida State Football, her yellow lab Mason and her husband, Travis. “I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to work alongside my Mom and be such a big part of this dream honoring my Grandma. It’s such a special thing to be able to do what we love while being surrounded by friends and family. We’ve got a great vibe going on and you can feel it when you walk in to our store... it’s just a happy place.”
